Across the Baltic They Fled Eighty Years of Memory and Legacy
On autumn nights in 1944, more than 70,000 Estonians, Latvians, and Lithuanians slipped into the Baltic’s cold darkness, steering overloaded fishing boats toward neutral Sweden as the Red Army returned. Eighty years later, their descendants gather on Gotland’s beaches and Tallinn Bay to honor the perilous voyage, preserve family stories, and reflect on how that flight still shapes Nordic culture and identity.

Published on

In spring 2025, as the EU and the US both grapple with inflation, geopolitical storms and social change, striking parallels and contrasts emerge. The European Union – a bloc of 27 member states with roughly 449 million people – is the world’s second-largest economy, at about $19.9 trillion GDP (nominal, forecast 2025). A polished bio and a slick headshot might get you noticed once—but they won’t make people remember you, trust you, or seek you out when stakes are high. The leaders and creatives who turn their names into magnets play a deeper, longer game. They obsess over the subtle signals most of us ignore—the mindset behind the message, the reputation behind the logo, the microscopic favicon in a crowded browser tab.
From Kitchen Table to Award-Winning Agency: The Rise of Blake Renda and Julie Koester
Published on
April 30, 2025
In 2015, co-founders P. Blake Renda and Julie W. Koester were huddled around a kitchen table in Naples, Florida, sketching plans for a different marketing agency. They had a bold vision: a one-stop firm blending rigorous business strategy with full-service, white glove business marketing services under one roof. Fast-forward to today, and that kitchen-table startup—Dragon Horse Agency—has grown into a multi-award-winning international firm with offices in Florida and California.

Published on
April 29, 2025
Media coverage is still one of the fastest ways for freelance and indie artists to amplify credibility, spark sales, and unlock career-changing opportunities. Yet a crowded inbox and shrinking newsrooms mean editors ignore cookie-cutter press releases faster than you can hit “send.” The good news: journalists crave fresh angles, authentic voices, and stories that resonate far beyond a gallery wall or Spotify link.
Valev Laube: How I Avoid PR Scams and Build Real Media Visibility
Published on
April 24, 2025
It’s hard not to notice my inbox lately: every day I see more pitches from so-called PR agencies promising guaranteed coverage in top outlets. These pay-to-play schemes seem to be on the rise in the creative world, and too many talented entrepreneurs have learned the hard way that the promises are empty. One media veteran on LinkedIn put it bluntly: “there’s no need to pay to play with PR and media features”. I agree – authentic publicity comes from strategy and storytelling, not handing over a check.
